Disney+ Media Streaming Service Now Officially Available in European Countries and UK

Disney is finally launching their movie and TV show streaming service across Europe: United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. The launch in France has been unfortunately delayed until the 7th of April.

The Disney+ service is hosting some of the most popular media entertainment franchises like Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar movies. On Disney+ you can watch hundreds of movies and TV shows both original and older content. The newest project is The Mandalorian, a new TV Show set in the Star Wars universe. Please note that various movies or TV series aren't currently available due to licensing, but they will be available when the licenses expire.

The Disney+ service offers 4K HDR support and it offers their own app that can be installed on almost all types of Smart TV operating systems: Android TV, Chromecast, WebOS, Samsung Tizen, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, Xbox One, PS4, Android mobile OS, iOS smartphones and tablets, and all web browsers. Please note that at a request by the European Union all streaming services will play their movies and TV shows at a lower bitrate due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Disney+ app offers support for setting up multiple user profiles and simultaneous streaming on 4 different devices. Each country where the service has been made available offers local subtitles. Later this summer we will see the service launched other European countries like Iceland, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Portugal and Belgium.

In the United Kingdom Disney+ is available at launch for £6/ month, and  £60 for a whole year. In the rest of the European Countries a month will cost you €7 and the entire year is available for €70. NOTE: Disney+ also offers a 7-day free trial.
