Philips is going to launch a new 49-inch "general purpose" ultrawide and curved monitor in June, and we are currently waiting on them to release info on availability and pricing.

It seems like Philips is very busy launching new monitors and today we are getting a brand new ultrawide model presentation. The 498P9 monitor by Philips is a new curved ultrawide monitor that is measuring 49 inches diagonally, it uses a VA panel, and it is capable of 5ms fast response time. This monitor's curvature radius is listed at 1800R and the maximum screen resolution that it reaches is set at 5120 x 1440.

The stand used that is packed with the Philips 498P9 will allow you to change its swivel, tilt and height positioning, so that you can adjust it to your liking. It also packs a KVM switch that can be used to connect two different computers with the monitor and easily switch between them without worrying about saving your work and moving to a different PC.

When it comes to connectivity the Philips 498P9 UltraWide monitor comes with one DisplayPort 1.2 input, two HDMI 2.0 ports, four USB ports, and USB Type-C. The monitor should also offers variable refresh rate at launch, even though this isn't confirmed at this time.
