Samsung Odyssey G7 2025 Presents 40″ Ultrawide 5K2K Display at 180Hz Refresh Rate

At this year’s CES, Samsung has added another impressive entry to its Odyssey lineup with the announcement of the latest Odyssey G7 monitor. While the Odyssey G7 name may sound familiar due to previous iterations, this new release takes things to a whole new level. Featuring a massive 40-inch ultrawide display, the monitor boasts an impressive 5120 x 2160 resolution (commonly referred to as 5K2K) that delivers outstanding clarity and expansive screen real estate.

What truly sets this monitor apart is its 180Hz refresh rate, offering ultra-smooth visuals for gamers and professionals alike. The panel utilizes LCD technology with a 1ms G2G (Gray-to-Gray) response time, ensuring minimal motion blur and excellent performance for fast-paced content. Additionally, it comes with VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification, providing support for HDR10+ content and delivering enhanced brightness and contrast. However, its HDR implementation relies on edge-lit dimming, which means it may not match the precision of full-array local dimming.

Samsung hasn’t shared detailed specifications beyond these highlights, and key information like availability and pricing remains under wraps. For those eager to see the Odyssey G7 in action, we’ll be visiting Samsung’s booth at CES to gather more insights and hands-on impressions.
